Fresh Fruit Protein Smoothie

After seeing a couple of different recipes, I came up with this smoothie recipe. I actually kind of eyeballed everything, so here are the guesstimates. This recipe goes along with my review & giveaway from this post. I used my new blender for this, which came with a thermal cooler you blend the smoothie right into. I mixed up some in that and saved it for the kids, and it really worked! I'll admit I don't make a lot of smoothies, but I thought they'd love a cold frosty treat. My oldest and I loved it, but the 2 little ones didn't care for it. lol. Maybe if I put a dollop of whipped cream on top for them?

1/2 cup soft silken Tofu (they'll never know!)
1/2 cup low fat vanilla yogurt
3/4 cut banana
1/2 cup fresh strawberries (I froze diced strawberries)
1/2 cup fresh peaches (I froze diced peaches)
1/2 cup orange juice (I used fresh OJ from frozen ice cubes I made -3-4 cubes)
1 apple sauce cup (I used Musselman's Healthy Picks Key Lime CupuaƧu)

Blend all the fruits with the tofu, yogurt, apple sauce and orange juice until smooth.

  2. This sounds like a great smoothie recipe. I'd love to incorporate tofu into our diet using this recipe. I love smoothies in the summer - and this one sounds like a great blend of fruits & protein!
