Melissa of Life in a Peanut Shell chose Espresso Cheesecake Brownies for this week's TWD. You can find the full recipe there, because I'm so sure you'll want to try these!
I don't have a 9x9 pan so I baked these in a glass 8x8 pan for probably 45 minutes. Just until the center wasn't jiggly anymore. My brownie batter was thick by the time I poured it into the pan after making the cheesecake layer, that I couldn't get much swirling effects in the topping. So, I didn't feel so bad about topping them with a sour cream glaze and covering it up.
These are fabulous!! The sweetened sour cream glaze was wonderful with these. The cheesecake layer had a light taste of espresso and was nice and creamy and my brownie layer was a tiny tiny bit dry, but with each layer they tasted great and you never knew. I cut these into small 2-3 bite pieces, especially since I didn't think the kids need espresso (not that how much of it they ate would effect them) I just made sure they ate it during the day not before bed, you know, in case. Besides I think they just liked to lick off the sour cream glaze. =) Anyways, these are great, and you should try these out!
so much for my swirls
