El Monterey Frozen Family Size Entrées: Review

El Monterey is manufactured by Ruiz Foods – a California-based, family-owned and operated food processing company co-founded in 1964 by Fred Ruiz and his father, Louis. To this day, Ruiz Foods still uses ‘Grandma Rosie’s’ recipes as the basis for all their Mexican food products – burritos, taquitos, quesadillas, tamales, chimichangas, and more.Today, Ruiz Foods’ leadership is under the direction of the third Ruiz generation. Bryce Ruiz and his sister, Kim Ruiz Beck, have fully embraced the family commitment to make quality foods that bring convenience, great taste and value to today’s busy families.

They have traditional or innovative favorites, there's a flavor-packed El Monterey product for you: Family Pack Burritos, Burrito Singles, Supreme Burritos, XX Large Burritos, Butcher Wrapped Burritos, Taquitos, Enchiladas, Tamales, Quesdillas, Cruncheros, Tornados, Fiesta Pack appetizers, and Cheesecake Bites
El Monterey introduces their new Family Size Entrées:
-Chicken Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Suiza Sauce
-Cheese Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Red Enchilada Sauce
-Chicken Mexicana with Pasta in a White Cream Poblano Pepper Sauce
-Spicy Beef Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Spicy Red Enchilada Sauce

We were sent a generous package which included 8 Family Size Entrées, two of each kind. WOW! I had to plug in our deep freeze so I had room to store it all! =) (no worries, as it is now being used for lots of other things to free up my fridge/freezer). The first to be eaten was the Chicken Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Suiza Sauce and Cheese Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Red Enchilada Sauce. I loved the cheese enchiladas, and so did the kids! Yes, they even ate it (it's been a while since they've wanted to actually eat their dinner). It all tasted great, the sauce and the rice. There was a hint of spice, but the kids didn't even notice. These are great for easy dinner night, they come in an oven proof container, just pop in the oven for a hour and it's ready! It comes with rice too, so it's all a 1 dish dinner. Tonight we're having the Chicken Mexicana with Pasta in a White Cream Poblano Pepper Sauce. Check them out in your grocer's freezer section. We already love their bags of frozen burritos (Mr. is always eaten those).

Cheese Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Red Enchilada Sauce ingredients:
With five enchiladas in a convenient heat-and-serve tray, our Cheese Enchiladas make a convenient meal for family and friends. We put a heaping portion of delicious cheese on freshly baked corn tortillas, roll them by hand, and place them on a bed of Spanish-style rice. Then we add a traditional red enchilada sauce and top it all with Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese. Adults and children, alike, will savor every cheese-filled bite!
