National Pizza Month: Classico "Elevate Pizza Night": #Giveaway and Review

this is a sponsored post on behalf of Classico
October is National Pizza Month, and the Classico brand wants to help you pay tribute to the pizza pie – one of America’s favorite foods! In the spirit of the occasion, they challenged me to Elevate Pizza Night in our home using Classico® pizza sauce (Traditional, Fire Roasted or White).

The modern pizza was originally created in Naples, Italy, where pizza is not just a food, it’s a way of life. And even though it was invented centuries ago, the Neopolitans never stop re-inventing the many ways to create a delicious pie.

We love pizza, do you too? What are your favorite toppings and flavors?

For our “Elevate Pizza Night” I was sent a really wonderful, generous kit, which will included:
· Classico Traditional Pizza Sauce (Better Homes and Gardens 2013 Best New Product Award winner)
· Classico Fire Roasted Pizza Sauce
· Classico Creamy White Pizza Sauce – While this pizza sauce won’t be available until Spring 2014, we want to offer you an exclusive preview!
· Two VIP Classico pizza sauce coupons to help you add your favorite taste of Italy into any home-cooked pizza
· Unique recipes from Classico / Tips on how to elevate a pizza recipe
· Pizza pan
· Pizza cutter
· Apron
· A gift card to purchase my unique pizza toppings

I knew I wanted to make some great pizza so I went with our favorite homemade recipe and a new gluten free recipe which I am also doing a blog review on later. I also went with some of our favorite pizza toppings, but to switch it up a little, I switched out the regular sausage for some chicken sausage with asiago & spinach in it. I was worried my family would like it, since they aren't spinach fans. Well, they did not even notice! I decided to use the Classico Fire Roasted Pizza Sauce because anything fire roasted means more flavor! YUM!

I chose to try the Classico Fire Roasted Pizza Sauce on our pizzas. I made them the same as mine (using this crust recipe) but no extra spinach or mushrooms. As with anything I make gluten free, I make mine first then set aside to avoid any cross contamination, well since my pizza was done first, they couldn't wait and started eating mine!! They loved it!

my gluten free pizza baking away, oh if you could smell this!! I baked mine on the pizza tray I was sent, it's the perfect size and baked beautifully! Also, that pizza cutter works awesome!!

my gluten free artisan pizza: homemade crust, classico fire roasted pizza sauce, asiago & spinach chicken sausage, spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions and lots of mozzarella. (I forgot my olives)
