Rolled Banana Snacks

Here's another simple snack idea since my other one went over well.
Spread a banana with peanut butter, slice into bite size pieces, roll in rice krispie cereal (cocoa krispies would be great too!)

enjoy,

Thanks everyone! I can't take credit for this though, I did see it in a magazine once. :)

This is a favorite for us too. You can play around with the cereal, fruity pebbles would be fun too. Ooh, I just thought of using Nutella instead of PB too! YUM!!!
    Enjoy!

  14. Carb count? My son is a diabetic.

    1. The carb count would depend on how much he eats. I find the easiest way to count carbs on things like this is I measure it all out ahead of time to get the total...then divide that by the number of pieces you cut it into. I haven't yet tried this so I don't have the count for you but this method always works for my daughter.

  18. The best way to make (and eat) these is to cut the banana in half and stick a popsicle stick into the cut end. Then, hold the stick while you spread your peanut butter and roll your rice krispies accordingly. The kids love it and it makes handling and eating SO much easier. :)

BTW, according to the recipe analyzer on caloriecount.com, 1/2 banana with 1 TB peanut butter and 1/8 c rice krispies would have (give or take) 8 g fat / 160 cal / 20 carbs. Just a ballpark, but thought it might help. Yummy.

  19. Could I send this in a lunch box or will the bananna turn brown?

  20. Hi anonymous, I would bet the banana turns brown, but I wonder if you cover the ends too, if it'll help it not turn (so) brown??

  25. Krispies are my kids’ favourite breakfast treats. There’ll be no problem at all if I include their Krispies for their afternoon snacks. I can almost see them jumping for joy when I tell them they will have Krispies for snack time. Thank you so much for this banana snack recipe. I’ve pinned it-ready for snacks in a few hours.

  28. Just another idea for bananas! I'm 58, when I was growing up this was my favorite. My mom would take a banana and cut it in half long way and then cut the two long half again to make 4 long pieces. Spread Miracle Whip on the flat sides, then dip it in finely chopped peanuts. Oh I remember loving these so much. It was a cheap desert, back in those days. lol
