Hi Rachelle, Looks like a simple satisfying yummy snack. I live in GA and with this Salmonella scare (I know it is NOT in jarred peanut butter, but ya never know what is gonna be next) I made my OWN peanut butter yesterday. I put 2C. dry roasted peanuts in the food processor with a pinch of salt and about 2 tsp. of honey. I processed about 2-3 minutes, added a bit more salt, and then covered tightly and stuck in fridge. Hubby is going nuts! (literally) It is delish, and actually tastes like PEANUTS! (got them ON SALE too!) This is a good way to use my Peanut butter! Leslie LeslieVeg@msn.com
How cool Crys! I did mention them on Facebook, maybe you saw it there?
TeaLady, yes, really good! I might try choco grahams too!
Leslie, that recipe sounds so yummy, and easy! I will have to try that sometime, when I find eanuts on sale too. ;)
I'm also looking for alternate solutions to peanut butter, as my little one had allergic reactions when he was younger (sneaking Sissy's sandwich). I've been too scared to see if it'll happen again, and am running out of ideas instead of the usual PB & J sands like my other kids gets. So anyone out there with any ideas on what to try instead of PB. I know there are other tree nut butters, but I also worry, if he may be allergic to nuts. Guess a trip to the allergist would tell me, huh.
You can try soy nut butter (It is available at Kroger, Publix) Try just a little at first as this might be a high allergy food also. Good luck Leslie LeslieVe@msn.com
We used to just spread the PB on the bananas. But with graham. That sounds extra good.

I love this snack because my 2-year old will rarely eat meat so anytime I can sneak extra protein in is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great snack. For myself I would add some dark chocolate on top.
ReplyDeleteYum, I love bananas with peanut butter!
ReplyDeleteYumface, I like peanut butter and banana, and peanut butter on graham crackers, so why not have all 3 together?
ReplyDeleteThansk everyone for commenting! I was sure no one would comment on such a simple silly post. :)
ReplyDeleteMaddy- my 2 yr old dislikes meat too. I think it's a texture thing and I joke he'll be vegetarian. lol
Helene- I was thinking mini chocolate chips on top too! :)
