Tuesdays with Dorie: World Peace Cookies



Jessica of cookbookhabit chose World Peace Cookies for this week's TWD recipe. I do remember reading in TWD that Dorie is crazy for these!

This was a pretty easy recipe, everything went well. I used freshly ground sea salt instead of fleur de sel. When making these keep in mind that these are slice and bake cookies so chill at least 3 hours (I did mine overnight). These came out beautifully, after letting them sit in the cookie jar for a few hours, they became soft and chewy, much different than right out of the oven with a gritty texture I thought.

    Jess- I too like the way the dough lookd, and loved that there are no eggs in this. So even its safer to eat raw. :)

    Vibi- Is that the style? I have no idea, but the back of the plate says Germany on it.

    Shari- while I was mixing the dough, I ket it going until it all combined, maybe for a few seconds longer, just until it wasn't crumbly anymore.

    Mary- No no, I found the plate at a favorite 2nd hand shop. I have found several pieces you've seen in my blog, there and for only a couple dollars each! Perhaps it was someone's great aunt once!
