ReplyDeleteMy boys are both in college now so I don't have to nag them about getting their homework done anymore!! Now it's up to them.
ReplyDeleteThis giveaway has things that even a college kid would use--good stuff!!

It depends on their ages and self-motivation level. With my high schooler, I've started looking at college info with him and letting him see what college and scholarship committees are looking for. With my seventh grader, I am blessed that he is self-motivated right now.

ReplyDeleteI let the grandkids choose a fun activity before doing their homework and then they are very eager to get started. I always want them to enjoy doing their homework so we blend it into a fun time activity too. Plus I give them lots of praise and hugs while they are working. That makes them so proud! Thank you!

ReplyDeleteMy 15 year old daughter is pretty good about getting her homework done. Right when she comes from school, she has a snack, goes up to her room ,plays her music loud, does some dancing-then settles down to tackle her homework:)

ReplyDeleteMy 16 and 15 yo are responsible enough to do homework with no problem but, my 13 yo has to be threatened everyday with no cell phone or facebook, that does the trick.

I basically use bribes & threats. No computer goes a long way to getting those grades up. Thanks for the great giveaway!

Well my daughter is in Pre-K so they don't have a lot of school work, but we work with her at home with her ABC's, shapes and writing her name. What I do to motivate her to take it serious and be studious I tell her that these things are mandatory for her to learn so she can advance to Kindergarten with all her friends. That certainly motivates her to settle down and pay close attention.

ReplyDeleteI motivate my kids to do their homework by first introducing them to books and a love of books fiction and non fiction; once they started having homework we sit at the table each evening and go over their homework even on weekends so that they are caught up. We know the kid's schedule for the week, that is posted by the teacher and we followup. They actually love doing their assignments!
