My grandma always canned blueberries and I imagine this sauce would taste very much the same. I should try it b/c as kids, whenever grandma would make us pancakes - we had an option of two things...syrup (homemade) or canned blueberries. Hard decision to make - so sometimes we would alternate.

I have not had blueberries on my pancakes (though I do put them IN my pancakes) in probably 20 years.

Last night though I did make a similar concoction using raspberries, sugar, water and cornstarch...boiled together and poured it on french toast - wonderful! Which reminds me there is some of the raspberry sauce left in the fridge...might taste nice about now.
