Review and Giveaway: -CLOSED- The Beverly Hills Kitchen: Beef Bourguignon

I was asked if we'd like to review the new The Beverly Hills Kitchen’s Beef Bourguignon frozen entrees . I have heard so much about this fancy French dish lately, and never having made this before I of course said yes!

The Beverly Hills Kitchen was created Alex Hitz whose life-long passion for cooking and hosting elaborate parties for his famous friends, inspired him to start a chef-prepared food line that combines restaurant-quality cuisine with the ease and intimacy of at-home dining. For those super busy families who love fine dining, but lack the time or skills to cook delicious, classic dinners such as beef bourguignon, The Beverly Hills Kitchen’s entrees are designed for convenience— frozen and ready in ten minutes.

Just the other week they introduced their very first product in the line on QVC – the delectable Beef Bourguignon. You can see the product/video on the QVC website. Coming soon they will offer New Orleans style Bread Pudding; Shrimp and Grits; Sirloin and Potato Pie; Salmon Pot Pie; and Lemon and Ginger Bars as well.

The Beverly Hills Kitchen’s Beef Bourguignon includes five 8oz. portions of USDA prime tender meat, simmered for four hours in a full-bodied red wine sauce with carrots, mushrooms, tomatoes, garlic, shallots, basil and Dijon mustard. Paired with rice, pasta, potatoes, a simple salad, or just on its own, this classic French comfort dish is a restaurant meal on-scale with the finest Parisian dining in the comfort of your own home. The fully cooked dish is packed in a boil pouch for carefree heating and eating. Exclusively on QVC.com from THE BEVERLY HILLS KITCHEN. Includes five 8-oz pouches of beef bourguignon. Net weight 2.5 lbs

The Beverly Hills Kitchen Beef Bourguignon is currently available on their website and QVC for $45 throughout the month of October.

This arrived safe and sound, packed well in dry ice, the entrees were still rock hard frozen! I went ahead and heated these up on the stove in a sauce pan with a little water which took about 10 minutes and served it over whipped mashed potatoes, that I made all fancy with my pastry bag and tip (like they did). Let me tell you! The smell of this cooking is Wonderful!! Yum! Once heated up, it looked like something simmering all day on the stove, you would never know it was frozen before. It's pretty much a fancy beef stew, I think. This was delicious, we all enjoyed it! I think you would too!

Because The Beverly Hills Kitchen is so kind, they are willing to offer one my my readers a special offer!!

Hot tamales! We found a good brand in the store. Served with refried beans (that aren't refried), rice....altho, just hot tamales for breakfast is good.

My favorite fancy dinner to make at home is a spinach ricotta manicotti dish, or prime rib. My favorite to order out when we lived in Spokane was lobster macaroni.

Fanciest meal I ever had to date was at Grand Floridian's Victoria and Albert's restaurant at Walt Disney World: Walnut Oil Seared Duck with hearts of palm, huckleberry vinaigrette and Fourme D' Ambert Fondue, Mango-Blood Orange Gelato with lavender, and Hawaiian Kona Chocolate Souffle. Oh I can't remember it all. And the coffee? To. Die. For. Presentation and taste.

Well, I just lost my job, so any food is fancy right now!

Normally, though - going out and ordering salmon, or any kind of sushi, now that I don't live in Vancouver where this is ordinary everyday food. Here it's expensive if it's going to be good. I'm used to it being good at fast-food prices - the sushi, at least - and here that is just not happening.

My favorite fancy meal is shrimp and scallops when we go out just because they are a little pricey so don't get to often. At home it would be anything that takes me all day to make like stuffed cabbage or spaghetti. Thank you!

Fancy meal in a restaurant is filet mignon because it tastes so good!

Fancy meal at home... carne asada with homemade chirmol, guacamole, rice and grilled thick homemade tortillas.

Well, I try and try and try to make Moussaka but it never comes out right so that's something we always have when we go out. If I can't make it properly then I consider it fancy lol.
