Taco Seasoning Mix

I saw this recipe a few years ago for Taco Seasoning and finally got around to trying it. Easy peasy! Everything was already in the cupboard, so why did I keep buying those salty packets? No more I say! This was pretty good.

Taco Seasoning
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

In a small bowl, mix all together. Store in an airtight container.

I used all of this on 2 lbs of ground beef with a little water mixed in. Added to taco shells with all the fixings and it was a great dinner!

YES!!! Just the other day I opened a pack of taco seasoning that cost me close to a fricking buck and I remembered when these packets cost .25 cents. AND IT WASN'T THAT LONG AGO!! So now, thanks to you my good buddy I am making my own!!

I have my own seasoning mix too. I started making it about ten years ago and haven't bought a packet since! I make about 5 batches at the same time and put them into sandwich bags. Squeeze out all the air, zip, then wrap all the bags in foil and store in the cabinet. :) Then I can just grab one of my own homemade taco packets.

I have been using your taco seasoning mix for about a year now. We love it. I will never ever go back to using a packet. I don't remember how I found your blog but I wanted to let you know you have some great recipes on here. We especially love you baked tacos. Just made those tonight as a matter of fact.
