Review and Giveaway: Silk Pure Almond‏

I was contacted by Silk Pure Almond to do a review on their new product. This is not a soy or dairy milk, this is a fantastic alternative to regular milk with a uniquely smooth flavor, almondmilk!

With 90 or fewer calories per serving and no saturated fat or cholesterol, almondmilk is a refreshing, delicious and versatile choice for a healthy lifestyle.
-Excellent source of the antioxidant vitamin E
-Great source of calcium (as much per serving as dairy milk!)
-Good source of vitamin A
-Lactose-Free
-Cholesterol-Free
-Zero saturated fat
-Only 60 calories per serving of Silk Pure Almond Original, and 90 calories per serving of Silk Pure Almond Vanilla
*this product contains nuts

This took me weeks to find! The only store I found sold it, was out of stock for like 2 weeks! Finally they had it back in, and in both flavors, original and vanilla. The vanilla almondmilk is sweeter and to me best for adding to recipes or coffee, I could not just drink a glass of this. I added some to our cereal and it was great! The original almondmilk flavor was great! This I could drink a glass of! It has a slight hint of almond flavor, it's creamy and smooth. The kids are loving drinking these and pouring it on their cereal. Hopefully I'll have enough left to make this french toast this weekend! Yum! *Thumbs up for Silk Pure Almond!*

Pure Almond French Toast
Challah, French bread or whole wheat Texas toast shine when teamed with almondmilk and a bit of spice. Serves 4.

2 eggs
1 cup Silk Pure Almond Original or Vanilla
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
8 thick slices day-old bread
1/4 cup sliced toasted almonds, for garnish

Whisk together eggs, Pure Almond, vanilla, almond extract and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Gently submerge bread in egg mixture, one or two slices at a time and place on griddle over medium heat. Cook each side until golden brown and serve with real maple syrup, fresh berries and toasted almonds.

And because this is a recipe blog, *Recipe tips using Pure Almond:
-you can substitute almondmilk for dairy milk, cup for cup.
-Using almondmilk in your favorite baked good recipes may slightly affect the baking time.
-Check the oven a few minutes earlier than the time listed in the recipe.
-Since Silk Pure Almond Vanilla almondmilk is lightly sweet already, you reduce the sugar in any dessert recipe by one third to one half when using this product, with no sacrifice in flavor.
-If a recipe calls for buttermilk, add a teaspoon of vinegar to almondmilk before adding it to the recipe.

I'd like to try Silk Pure Almond because "Each glass provides an excellent soure of natural antioxidants and as much calcium and vitamin D as dairy milk, with absolutely no cholesterol, saturated fat, dairy or soy." *Thanks* for the giveaway!

Hi, was just reading your newsletter and saw this review.

The main reason I'd like to try Silk's Pure Almond is that I (and my family) like almonds and have never tried the milk. However, the milk also is cholesterol-free and an excellent source of vitamin E and good source of protein and fiber.

Thanks so much; GLTA!

Each glass provides an excellent source of natural antioxidants and as much calcium and vitamin D as dairy milk, with absolutely no cholesterol, saturated fat, dairy or soy. And, best of all, a serving of Silk Pure Almond Original almondmilk is only 60 calories, and a delicious glass of Vanilla is just 90.
