Fresh and Easy with Caffé Calabria San Diego Event

A few weeks ago, I and a Guest were invited to a Fresh and Easy event at Caffé Calabria (a local café and artisanal coffee roaster) in honor of a few new stores opening here in San Diego. It was a great night out with a friend (just us, no kids!) and other local bloggers (great to meet you La Jolla Mom!), where Prosecco was served with fruits, cheeses, meats, hummus and crackers as well as delicious hor dourves and desserts created and prepared by Fresh and Easy's own Chef Cynthia Perez. The delicious foods we ate were:

Goat Cheese and Zucchini Tartlettes
Fresh Mozzarella, Arugula and Pesto Crostini
Ensalada de Chorizo (Chorizo Salad) with Cilantro Dressing
Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp
Chocolate Ganache Glazed Raspberry Cakes
Mini Banana Cream Tartlets

We had a tour of the Cafe and roasting facilities along with a taste test of a few of his own roasted coffees. We listened as Owner, Arne Holt told all about how Caffé Calabria came to be and how he's partnered with Fresh and Easy to sell his roasted coffee in their stores. Before we left, we were treated to coffee from the Caffé Calabria team.

"What started as a simple quest for a good cup of coffee has become the foundation on which Caffé Calabria stands today. After tasting coffee all over the country, Calabria's founder, Arne Holt, seized his calling to bring quality coffee to San Diego. Fifteen years, endless hours of work, dozens of trips to Italy, and millions of batches of coffee later – Caffé Calabria is one of the finest coffee roasters on the West Coast." source
