To celebrate all that apple harvest brings, Pillsbury is encouraging families to join in the fun in a number of ways this fall.
To pick the best apples for your pie, gather the family for a road trip to the local apple orchard to savor the flavors of fall. Not sure which orchard is closest to you? Log onto tasteofhome.com/appleorchards to find a list of orchards that are planning Love the Pie! baking demonstration events across the country. While there, you can learn pie baking tips and ideas from State Fair Pie Baking Champions, and pick up recipes and participate in other orchard activities.
Sadly we aren't listed on the map to go pick apples. But I did made apple treats here at home! Are you lucky enough to go apple picking in the orchards? I would love to do that.
Pillsbury Pie Crusts are an easy base for your favorite warm apple treats. Simply unroll into a pie plate, fill with your favorite variety of sliced apples and filling, and bake! From orchard to oven, Pillsbury Pie Crusts make apple pie baking simple with delicious results.

Our traditions are apple and pumpkin picking. And a weekend trip to VT to enjoy the foliage. Fall is my favorite season!
My family and I used to go apple and pumpkin picking every fall near our home! My dad and I would use the apples to make apple pie and applesauce (for Hannukah which usually falls right after Autumn is over!) Now that I've moved out I don't go anymore, which makes me so sad! I'm hoping to start that tradition again with my new family!

For the Fall we do the following:
1. We make donuts and apple pie.
2. Have a leaf collecting party. We live in NYC and having a tree is rare, but we have a large oak tree that let's go of many leaves. So we invite people over to rake and drink hot cider and cinnamon or plain donuts and pie. We also take our Christmas picture on this day because it always looks great with the colorful autumn leaves. Also The yard gets clean and I am happy!
3. We pick and then carve pumpkins.
4. We decorate like crazy for Halloween - lots of 5 foot skeletons hanging off our house.
