-closed- Salba Smart: Review and Giveaway

Salba Smart is a powerful whole grain grown in the ideal climate of Peru. It can be used as whole grain form or ground and it being almost flavorless, makes it ideal to add to many of your recipes adding high nutrients and minerals such as Omega-3s, protein, calcium and fiber! The way I look at it, it's one less vitamin to take in the morning, right? Salba is all-natural, has no trans fat, is gluten free, vegan, kosher, has almost no carbohydrates and is non-GMO.

I added about 2 TBL of whole grain Salba to my cereal and it adds an extra crunch. Add the ground Salba to your pancake or muffin batters, oatmeal and even your smoothies. Great on salads and in sauces too. I just don't recommend adding the ground Salba to scrambled eggs...lol. The Salba Smart website has quite a few recipes to choose from if you'd like to cook and bake with it. Salba Smart also has other products such as salsas, chips, pretzels and even tortillas. Salba Smart can now be found at Kroger/King Soopers, in addition to Whole Foods Market, Vitamin Cottage, Wegman’s and other natural foods stores. It can also be ordered online at http://www.efoodpantry.com/ and www.salbasmart.com.

One "Mommy? I'm Hungry!" reader will win a mixed box of Salba Smart products: a bag of Whole Grain, a bag of Ground Grain as well as Salba products including pretzels, tortilla chips, salsa and potato crisps!!

I've been exploring their site and the grain looks wonderful. I've been hooked on quinoa, which is also a healthy & ancient grain, so I'm excited about Salba as well.

I'm trying to eat healthier and Salba's nutrient value is pretty impressive. All grains are healthy but this one seems like the super hero of grains.

Salba seems like a great way to incorporate that fiber and whole grain goodness that my fiance needs in his diet, but it's so difficult to get it all in there! This sounds like a great solution. And no 'eww, that's yucky' faces either ;)
