Here's another simple snack idea since my other one went over well. Spread a banana with peanut butter, slice into bite size pieces, roll in rice krispie cereal (cocoa krispies would be great too!)
Now this is just smart. Where were you when my young'n was young?
My kids would love this, thanks for posting.
Those look yummy!
So cute for a snack.
That's a nice snack idea!
ohhh I love the cocoa krispie idea
Yum, great idea!
Now these look like they could melt in your mouth. I babysit quite often and this will definitely be a snack Conner gets! He'll love it (and so will I!). Peanut Butter + Banana = No fail combination!!!!
*****************************************Thanks everyone! I can't take credit for this though, I did see it in a magazine once. :)This is a favorite for us too. You can play around with the cereal, fruity pebbles would be fun too. Ooh, I just thought of using Nutella instead of PB too! YUM!!! Enjoy!*****************************************
What yummyness! Thanks for the new idea!
Looks great! I think my three will love this! I will too when it's 9pm and they are asking me to "bake" them something! I bet frosted flakes would be tasty too, any grain cereal really!~ingrid
im sure kids will love this as an evening snack..i love it too!!
This looks like a perfect snack that all 4 children in my family woould enjoy!! Thanks.
What a simple yet satisfying snack idea- I'll have to try this some time soon. :)
wheres the recipe?
Anonymous,"Spread a banana with peanut butter, slice into bite size pieces, roll in rice krispie cereal (cocoa krispies would be great too!)"
I bet raisins in place of cereal would be good too!
Carb count? My son is a diabetic.
Very creative kids snack. :)
 tried it with nutella. Excellent.
Bet that's not syn free !! Lol
The carb count would depend on how much he eats. I find the easiest way to count carbs on things like this is I measure it all out ahead of time to get the total...then divide that by the number of pieces you cut it into. I haven't yet tried this so I don't have the count for you but this method always works for my daughter.
I bet that would be good with grapenuts cereal too, or granola. Thanks for the post and idea!
The best way to make (and eat) these is to cut the banana in half and stick a popsicle stick into the cut end. Then, hold the stick while you spread your peanut butter and roll your rice krispies accordingly. The kids love it and it makes handling and eating SO much easier. :) BTW, according to the recipe analyzer on caloriecount.com, 1/2 banana with 1 TB peanut butter and 1/8 c rice krispies would have (give or take) 8 g fat / 160 cal / 20 carbs. Just a ballpark, but thought it might help. Yummy.
This is such a great idea!
Could I send this in a lunch box or will the bananna turn brown?
Hi anonymous, I would bet the banana turns brown, but I wonder if you cover the ends too, if it'll help it not turn (so) brown??
I made these for my daughter's preschool snack and called them Monkey Sushi because they were learning about monkey's. I linked up to your post. Thanks for sharing!!! http://mommystimeout-samantha.blogspot.com/b/post-preview?token=6DiCxzkBAAA.FKxyti5ooPkmEoA-oZtNJg.cLvIRpG7fXmaYdKyfpZ1-Q&postId=2597292194855027022&type=POST
I made these today with Fruity Pebbles for my 4 year old son's breakfast and he LOVED it!!!
Ooh guna try this and drizzle Carmel over it!
I made this today for me and my daughter, loved it ! A little messy but the crunch is perfect. Thank you!
Krispies are my kids’ favourite breakfast treats. There’ll be no problem at all if I include their Krispies for their afternoon snacks. I can almost see them jumping for joy when I tell them they will have Krispies for snack time. Thank you so much for this banana snack recipe. I’ve pinned it-ready for snacks in a few hours.
Messy!!!!! But such an awesome idea!!
