Review: Kernel Season's Popcorn Seasonings

What's popping?

The wonderful folks over at Kernel Season's Popcorn Seasonings http://www.kernelseasons.com/shop.php sent us over a package of goodies. We're always doing popcorn in the microwave (though it always either burns or under pops!), and with all these flavors to try out, we just had to say yes! They come in a hander shaker so they're easy to use and store.

Well, forget the microwave! Try cooking popcorn on your stove top! It's all new to me, I'm used to the hot air poppers or microwave. It really works, and is easy too! That's what I had to do, since our microwave fried itself one week. Just so happens that Alton Brown did a segment on it a couple of shows after I got my popcorn samples! *see new update blow.

I took a handful of popcorn for each flavor so we could try them all. I can't pick a favorite because they were all really good! Ok, maybe the kettle corn, haha.

We were sent these flavors:

*Raw Kernel Popcorn Pouch
*Microwave butter Popcorn (3 pouches)
*Butter Seasoning
*White Cheddar Seasoning
*Kettle Corn Seasoning
*Ranch Seasoning
*Parmsesan Garlic Seasoning
*Nacho Cheddar Seasoning
*Butter Spritzer

Check out their Recipes too! Yes, use the seasonings to sprinkle on your favorite foods! How about broccoli with the Kernel Season's White Cheddar flavor? Use their butter flavor sprinkled on your favorite white fish! You can buy them online, Target, Walmart, Grocery store chains (Von's and Albertson's).

These were great to try, and will last quite a few bowls of popcorn to come! Thanks Kernel Season's!

*Update, I made this since then, on the stove top using my heavy stock pot and lid. I found it much easier and didn't have 1 unpopped kernel or a scorched bowl! I popped up a couple batches to take with us to my oldest's Choir concert. =)

enjoy,

When you said you'd never made stovetop popcorn before, I instantly thought of those ones in the foil pan that you swirl around over a hot stove... you never made those? With the tinfoil that expands into the big ball?

Oh wait. I just read the link. This is basically making your own one of those out of pans and tinfoil. I get it.

Pam- I bet they would love it! My oldest dumped a ton on the popcorn, and I was like, "Whoa there!"

Camille- haha yes I've used those Jiffy Pop ones before, when camping especially. But they burn too much.
