Review: Jarritos Mexican Sodas

I was asked if I'd like to try Jarritos, a popular Mexican soft drink. Jarritos began as Mexico’s first national soft drink over 60 years ago, and today Jarritos are a reflection of Mexico in their array of traditional Mexican flavors made with 100% natural sugar. We were sent a sampler pack of 11 bottles (1 in each flavor!) to taste, and share my review with you! They were also kind enough to send along a Tshirt and a http://www.clubjarritos.com/ music CD.

Traditionally water and other drinks were kept in clay pottery jugs called jarritos to keep them cool and fresh. Today, Jarritos bottles reflect that heritage with their unique shape and embossed neck.

Jarritos flavors are based on Mexican regional traditions in food. Grapefruit, for example, is made from fresh grapefruit from the state of Veracruz. Jamaica (hibiscus) uses extracts from Jamaica flowers originating in Guerrero and Oaxaca. The region of Colima provides lemons for a lemon flavor, and the same with Pineapple from Tabasco. Today, these popular flavors still come from these regions where each year growers compete to provide Jarritos with the best fruit.

They also have a terrific contest which just launched: Jarritos Nation! It’s a website designed to bring all fans of Jarritos together and award prizes for posting photos. Entering is very easy – just head to www.jarritosnation.com and “claim” a location on the map with a photo. Prizes range from packages of Jarritos to digital cameras and even a 12 day cruise to Hawaii!
You can find Jarritos on Facebook as well!

As you can see, we had many flavors to choose from! Yes I say HAD. They are already gone! We enjoyed them that much! I've never had Jarritos sodas before, but have seen them at the stores. Little guy had to test one out when I opened the box, he went for the strawberry. WOW! Is it a fizzy soda! Mr. has had the Mandarin flavor before so he chose to have that one with dinner. I went for the Grapefruit one, our Oldest had the Mango, then the little ones had the Jamaica and Fruit Punch flavors. Also, these are not screw tops, no no no, go find your bottle opener before you tear your hand up! Anyways, we all liked these (well OK Tamarind was not my fave flavor) and will most definitely pick these up when we see them again.

I wrote this review for "Mommy? I'm Hungry!" about Jarritos Mexican Sodas. I received free product to keep for this review. All opinions for this review are that of myself & family. Product info & stock images provided by PR.
