Princess Party Cookbook by Annabel Karmel‏: Review

I was sent over a copy of the Princess Party Cookbook: Over 100 Delicious Recipes and Fun Ideas for review. Let me tell you what a darling book this is!! This book is made up into sort of themes for your party such as, Makeup and Jewelry with Emerald Pizzas,a sparkling ruby mocktail, ruby glazed chicken and jeweled cupcakes. There's also a Valentine theme with Passion Pink Pasta and Shortbread Sweethearts. She also wrote about Spring Princess, Movie Star Sleepover, Princess Soda Fountain, Princess Flower Fairies, Princess Beach Babe, The Princess and the Pea and lastly Holiday Angels. There are a lot of photos and ideas as well as party planning tips for your party.

Well I haven't had little parties to make any of these fun ideas, so I went with a comforting Mac and Cheese recipe from the Movie Star Sleepover section. Remember the Crispy Yogurt Chicken Strips I made the other day with that yogurt, this went with that. Now, I have never used Gruyere cheese before and was quite surprised how expensive it is for a little chunk. BUT I bought it anyways...I loved it as is, much like a Swiss cheese. The recipe is pretty easy, you make a roux, then a bechamel sauce and add the cheese to melt and add the pasta and bake. It tasted great, it was nice and cheesy, creamy and flavorful with the Gruyere and cheddar.
